Booking.com is a popular online travel agency that offers a wide range of accommodation ​options, including hotels, apartments, hostels, and vacation rentals. The platform allows ​users to search for and book accommodations worldwide, often providing detailed ​information, reviews, and ratings from previous guests.

Project Description

This project is dedicated to managing and visualizing global risks and incidents that may impact business ​operations, travellers, partners, and employees linked with Booking.com. The dashboard allows stakeholders to ​monitor and respond to incidents in real time, thereby ensuring the safety and security of all parties involved.

Research Phase

Since this was merely a conceptual prototype to visualize our ideas, we promptly organized a workshop with ​actual users to grasp their needs. Below, you will find questions and answers from the session.

In this section, we showcase the outcome of our design work with the final high-fidelity mockups for ​users. These designs embody our research discoveries and design journey, focusing on providing a ​user-centered and visually engaging interface.

Storyline for the Global Risk Management

Dashboard Presentation

Step 1: Opening the Application

The meeting begins with the presenter launching the Global Risk Management Dashboard.

The main global view loads, present four options: Global, America, EMEA, and APAC. This initial screen ​offers a comprehensive overview, setting the stage for a detailed exploration.

Step 2: Navigating to the Global View

The presenter clicks on the "Global" tile, transitioning to the global view. This view features a central map ​and a bottom navigation bar containing information about business travellers, offices, partners, and ​employees. At the top, users can filter news categories: Security, Political, Public Health, and Travel. The ​presenter selects a category to delve deeper and clicks on "America," moving to the next step.

Now in the America view, the presenter focuses on the United States for more specific information. The ​numbers on the bottom tabs are updated to reflect data relevant to the Americas. The map zooms in, ​providing a more detailed regional perspective.

The presenter clicks on the US, further refining the view. This step provides an even more granular look, ​with the bottom tab numbers adjusting accordingly. The map highlights specific states, offering insights ​into localized incidents and risks.

In the final step, the presenter clicks on the right-hand side tabs for news. This action reveals detailed ​video content and news articles related to specific incidents in New York. The audience can see real-time ​updates and multimedia reports, enhancing their understanding of the situation.

The presentation showcases how the ​dashboard's design and functionality support ​proactive risk management and informed ​decision-making for Booking.com. It emphasizes ​seamless navigation and detailed insights to ​enhance safety and security globally.
